Donnersohn is a 16.3 dark bay, fully approved Hanoverian
stallion, licensed in 2003 by both the American Hanoverian Society and the Hannoveraner Verband
of Germany. He is a son of the legendary Donnerhall, out of SPS Angelina, by Archipel.
Imported to the U.S. as a youngster, Donnersohn ("Dexter") enjoyed success
on the line at Devon, then under saddle as a dressage horse, winning regional championships at third level. He is currently
in training with Helen Cast, joint
owner with Ann Fleisher , to further develop him to the FEI levels, and will return to the show ring in 2011.
Donnersohn offers light, expressive movement and has wonderfully comfortable,
rhythmic gaits. He is a modern type, with a leggy build that is easy to sit. He is a bright and social stallion
who is an absolute gentleman to handle.
Mare owners report that their Donnersohn babies are friendly, confident
and highly trainable. They have demonstrated success at breed shows and are now entering careers in the hunter/jumper
ring as well as the dressage arena.
Donnersohn is currently standing in Massachusetts. Both fresh cooled
(limited availability during the show season) and frozen semen are available.
