Training in the USA
In the mid 90's Helen came to New England to train & compete. Starting her career in
Dressage in the USA, at Apple Valley Farm with
International Trainer & Judge - Kathy Connelly. Helen purchased Nautical a SWB G & through consistent training,
brought him to GP - he has since been sold & remains local to NE.
Kathy Connelly provided
me with a wonderful opportunity at Apple Valley Farm, with accesss to high quality training & horses.
From Kathy I gained a correct systematic approach to the training & a great foundation of the 'basics' along with emphasis
on the timing of the aids through half halts.. Whilst at Apple Valley Farm I purchased a SWBG named Nautical,
he was 7yrs old at the time.
I
had the pleasure of working with Dotti Morkis in
Florida & NE with Nautical, whom I trained to & competed at GP. 'Nauti'; was just beginning work
on changes - I always video my lessons, & one of my favourites is of me & Nautical with Dotti - she really brought
the very best out in us - of course its on tape somewhere, I should dig it out for you all to see:) so that you can appreciate
her skill too. From Dotti I gained a greater insight into my application of the half halts, how to use my body correctly,
she is a stickler for position..
Pam Goodrich I
consider one of my current coaches & mentor, love Pam! Pam is currently helping to keep me fine tuned, keeping us on track in the GP work.
Dr Cesar Parra gave me
the confidence to just get out there....
I have participated in quite a few clinics with Karl
Mikolka with Nautical. Karl is fun, exuberant &
extremely insightful - with many wonderful exercises that test the brain & the obedience of the horse.
Most recently I have had
the opportunity to participate in some clinics with Tom Noone. I found Tom to be extremely professional in
his teaching & a truly talented trainer.

score for most of his shows this 2011 season, successfully getting bronze & silver scores for students. Helen works
with horses/people on many levels of training from breaking youngsters & working with clients, from beginners to advanced
in many disciplines. Troy: is in training with Helen, shall be competed 2011 & available
for sale please call for more information. Dexter is co-owned between Ann Fleisher & Helen Cast, he will be competed 2011.
Although Helen's passion
is Dressage, because of her jumping & eventing background, she is able to help with the correct flat work needed &
often missing in the hunter world at lower levels. She is patient & willing to help with problems with horse or client
with the training, taking time to get the combination fit & trained for the job at hand.
